Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to determine diagnoses and treatment needs.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses through evidence-based interventions, medication administration, and patient education.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections with precision and safety.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare teams utilizing EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to ensure seamless patient care documentation.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations using laboratory experience, medical imaging, sonography, and other tools to inform clinical decisions.
- Engage in case management activities including discharge planning, utilization review, and working with patients in assisted living or nursing home environments.
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation.
- Proficiency in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care, and sterile processing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and medical terminology.
- Skilled in managing complex cases involving ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience; familiarity with critical care protocols is highly valued.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography or laboratory specimen collection/processing methods.
- Experience with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory care/dementia), hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health.
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards for billing purposes; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is a plus.
- Demonstrated competence in acute pain management, airway management (ventilators), dialysis procedures, and gastroscopy techniques such as gastric lavage or spinal taps.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on health coaching, education on nutrition or family planning, and working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges.
