Local Intermodal Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices, as well as the ability to handle various types of freight, including dump trucks and tankers. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate delivery vehicles, including dump trucks and tankers, to transport goods to specified locations.
• Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
• Navigate designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Operate forklifts as needed for loading and unloading materials.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving.
• Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
• Ability to operate various types of freight vehicles, including dump trucks and tankers.
• Strong understanding of load unloading procedures and safety practices.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to follow schedules accurately.
• Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) as required during loading/unloading tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1, $1,575.00 per week
