Job Summary

The Telehealth ENT APP provides remote healthcare services to pediatric otolaryngology patients focusing on patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment through telecommunication technologies. Actively participates in improving clinical outcomes through evidence-based strategies and innovative care approaches. Reports directly to the ENT Section Chief.

Job Specific Duties

  • Conducts virtual pediatric otolaryngology and consults via video.
  • Develops, implements, evaluates, monitors, and modifies a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Educates patient and families on health management and preventive care.
  • Meets productivity metrics pertaining to patient/visits volumes and visit duration time.
  • Coordinates follow up tests, lab studies, and patient follow up.
  • Prescribes medications as required (NO prescriptions of federally controlled substances).
  • Completes documentation that meets regulatory standards within 30 minutes of the encounter or by the end of the date of service accordingly.
  • Stays current with Telehealth state regulations and best practices.
  • Returns patient/family phone calls and fills/renews prescriptions.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • APRN State of Florida Licensure - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Program (AANP), or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)
  • American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • Level II Background Check
  • Successful completion of Credentialing by NCHS Medical Administration

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner perferred
  • Two years' experience in pediatric ENT outpatient setting preferred
  • Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, and co-workers
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to problem solve to formulate a plan of care and evaluate the patient's response to care
  • Ability to interpret, adapt to, and react calmly under stressful conditions
