Position Summary

The Tablet Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining tablet compression machines to produce high-quality tablets in accordance with Factory6's cGMP, safety, and quality standards. This role directly impacts product quality and production efficiency, ensuring consistent output across all tablet manufacturing operations.

Working closely with the Production Manager and Quality team, the Tablet Press Operator monitors tablet characteristics (weight, hardness, thickness, and appearance), performs machine adjustments, completes documentation, and ensures product integrity throughout each batch. The ideal candidate has previous tablet compression experience and strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor tablet press machines, including tooling installation, calibration, and adjustments.
  • Perform in-process checks and ensure tablets meet weight, hardness, thickness, and appearance specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments to maintain optimal performance and product consistency.
  • Complete batch records, cleaning logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform machine cleaning and changeovers in compliance with cGMP and SOP requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address deviations or nonconformances.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance on equipment needs or repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Follow production schedules and communicate material or mechanical issues proactively.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical systems or manufacturing preferred.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of tablet press operation in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplement manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with rotary tablet presses (e.g., Fette, Korsch, Stokes, Manesty) is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tablet compression processes.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, batch records, and production instructions.
  • Understanding of cGMP, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate quality checks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with solid-dose equipment such as encapsulators, blenders, or coating machines.
  • Familiarity with production-tracking or ERP systems.

Work Schedule: 

Monday through Thursday 10 hour shifts

Full Time Day: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

Part time Evenings: 4:30pm - 11:30pm 

Additional hours available on a week by week basis Fridays and Saturdays
