POSITION: Laundry Attendant

Key duties

• Operate laundry equipment: Load and unload washers and dryers, monitoring cycles and making necessary adjustments.
• Process laundry: Sort, wash, dry, and fold all linens, towels, and other hotel textiles.
• Perform quality control: Inspect items for stains or damage and remove them for extra treatment or repair.
• Maintain cleanliness: Keep the laundry room, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and stocked. This includes tasks like wiping machines and emptying lint traps.
• Manage supplies: Track inventory of laundry supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Assist other departments: Help housekeepers by delivering clean linens and sometimes stripping rooms of dirty linen.
• Follow safety procedures: Adhere to all safety policies, including those for handling chemicals and operating machinery.

Qualifications and skills

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Attention to detail for tasks like quality control and proper sorting.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of different fabric types and cleaning techniques is helpful.
• Prior experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is often preferred but not always required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
