About
The Senior Systems Engineer will guide our server and storage systems design and selection of infrastructure platforms, along with supplying technical support to EMEA region and advice/guidance to the Group (Worldwide).
- To maintain and support the server, storage, and user environment to ensure continuous performance, reliability, integrity and security
- It will involve managing multiple systems projects simultaneously - including the initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and close-out phases
- You will already have extensive knowledge of Microsoft server and cloud products, ideally possessing Microsoft certifications or a similar level of technical ability. You will display advanced skills in Active Directory, SQL Server, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, including Exchange, Azure, PowerShell, SAN, AWS, and VMware technologies.
- An employee in this class must stay abreast of changes in the enterprise server field and be able to assimilate new technology including cloud infrastructure quickly
- Responsible for the specification, selection, acquisition, deployment and support of IT hardware and related server and storage products. Peripheral devices (printers, scanners, plotters etc.)
- Responsible for the specification, selection, acquisition, deployment and support of IT software including Operating Systems, Databases, Hypervisors, Desktop applications, Server applications, along with backup, monitoring and reporting software
- Planning, documenting and testing company IT Disaster Recovery
- Responsible for endpoint protection (anti-virus software, malware, data loss protection)
- Responsible for IT security, including Setting and maintenance of user accounts and passwords, File and folder permissions, system patching, physical security in and around computer rooms
- Establishing, supervising and verifying backup routines
- Providing the Senior Network Engineer with advice, troubleshooting, and support across infrastructure platforms including switches, firewalls, access points, telephony, and cabling
Responsible for Control systems (asset tracking systems, register of software licenses and Service Desk documentation) including:
Establishing, monitoring and following workflow procedures
- Software asset management
Helpdesk/ticketing systems
To comply with all relevant Company policies operable within the organization

Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or significant experience in a comparable role
- Extensive experience of windows environments, preferably MCTS or MCPS qualified
- Experience of supporting large-scale multi-country systems design, support and administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer facing/customer service skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility including shift and out of hours working
- Excellent organizational skills
- Desirable: experience of ITIL
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- Self-motivation and ready to take responsibility
- Able to manage and prioritize and tasks and time efficiently
- Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks
