Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Washington, DC. The LBM Sales Representative will focus on driving sales through exceptional customer service, understanding the needs of customers, and offering personalized solutions for lumber and building material (LBM) products. Day-to-day tasks include assisting customers in selecting the right materials, providing product recommendations, processing orders, managing inventory, and collaborating with the team to meet sales goals. The role also involves maintaining product knowledge and ensuring an organized and professional sales environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to assist and guide customers effectively
  • Knowledge of lumber and building materials, including products, uses, and trends, with the ability to provide expert advice to customers
  • Sales and negotiation skills, with experience in accurately processing orders and meeting sales targets
  • Attention to detail, familiarity with inventory management, and a proactive approach to maintaining store organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently when addressing customer needs
  • Proficiency in communication, both verbal and written, for clear interactions with customers and team members
  • Previous experience in construction, home improvement, or related areas is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in sales or related fields are a plus
