Our dynamic logistics team in Durham, North Carolina is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our growing operations. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of all outgoing shipments. You will work closely with our warehouse staff, carriers, and customers to maintain efficient workflow and high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and process all outgoing shipments using our warehouse management system (WMS).
- Verify shipping information against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup schedules and freight arrangements.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure they meet shipping standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on Safety protocols.
- Ensure proper handling of products to prevent damage during the shipping process.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers and scanners.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety guidelines are followed, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, which may involve some Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills. Familiarity with shipping software and WMS. Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a team-oriented attitude. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
