About
Our busy Des Moines, Iowa, warehouse is looking for a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to manage the inbound flow of goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper documentation. Your responsibilities will include unloading delivery trucks, verifying incoming inventory against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately recording received items into our inventory management system. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be expected to work diligently and efficiently, often handling items that require moderate Lifting. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all Safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect incoming inventory for damage, discrepancies, or shortages.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage incoming inventory for put-away or further processing.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to Safety standards.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely, if certified.
- Properly utilize and maintain required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or inventory role is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting, bending, and standing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Familiarity with general logistics processes.
