We are seeking a data-driven, collaborative professional to join our team as a *Data Analytics Project Manager*. This newly created position is part of our broader initiative to leverage data more effectively across our operations to support strategic decision-making, drive process improvements, and optimize business performance. The role will support strategic decision-making by integrating and transforming data from diverse sources such as vendor exports (eg., NAPA, CDK) and internal systems.
The successful candidate will lead and support high-impact projects across various business units, starting with a priority initiative focused on improving inventory management across our three automotive parts store locations. This initial project will address critical gaps in inventory accountability, ordering, and stock optimization.
Following the successful completion of this initiative, the Data Analytics Project Manager will transition to other analytics-driven projects across departments such as operations, finance, sales, or customer insights - providing key business intelligence and project leadership to improve performance across the organization.
*General Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties*
· *Lead cross-functional data analytics projects *to identify inefficiencies, uncover opportunities, and support data-backed decision-making.
· *Analyze inventory and sales data *to identify excess, dead, or misallocated stock (Initial Focus - 30% of time during early phase):
o Develop and distribute weekly reports, dashboards, and performance metrics
o Conduct aged inventory reviews and provide actionable insights
o Extract, clean, and transform data from CSV exports, SharePoint libraries, and databases (e.g., SQL queries) to build reliable datasets for analysis.
· *Improve ordering practices *by evaluating current behaviors and systems:
o Challenge corporate auto-replenishment logic and store-level order patterns
o Establish consistent reordering rules, particularly for third-party suppliers
o Leverage tools like Power Query for data preparation and ETL processes to evaluate patterns across disparate sources
· *Inventory reduction initiatives:*
o Recommend and implement strategies to return, transfer, or liquidate slow-moving inventory
· *Optimize store-to-store transfers to balance inventory more efficiently across locations*
· *Serve as corporate liaison, *partnering with NAPA's distribution and inventory teams to:
o Adjust replenishment settings
o Negotiate returns
o Align on process improvements and strategic priorities
· *Travel regularly between store locations *(up to 30%) to assess processes, engage with team members, and implement best practices
· *Support future analytics projects *across departments, providing:
o Data modeling, dashboarding, and visualization
o Business process mapping and performance tracking
o Data modeling, dashboarding, and visualization using tools like Power Bi, including data-driven models for predictive insights
o Strategic insights to support executive and operational decision-making
*Expectations/Successes:*
· Significant reduction in total inventory across stores, freeing up working capital

*Qualifications: *
· 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, business analysis, or operations-focused project management
· xawqmyg Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data cleaning, etc.) required
· Proficiency in data ingestion and manipulation from varied sources, including CSVs, SharePoint, and relational databases; experience with Power Query for transformation and ETL processes.
· Experience with SQL for querying databases, Power BI (or similar) for visualization and data modeling, and building data-driven models for business forecasting
· Proven ability to lead projects from discovery through execution, balancing analytics with change management
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills - able to challenge constructively and build cross-functional rapport
· Comfortable working in a multi-location environment with regular travel
· Ability to understand the financial and operational impact of decisions
· Highly organized, analytical, and persistent in solving business problems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,053.46 - $86,774.05 per year
