Job summary

In this role you'll be supporting customers utilising our new Provision of Power Agreement framework and helping the public sector buy, design, build and deliver innovative solutions and services across the renewable and decarbonisation industry 

You'll be working rigorously on strategy and procurement in areas with ambitious growth targets, through strategic, commercial and procurement customer support, we are seeking talented individuals that can successfully manage multiple conflicting tasks, within very tight timescales to support our successful team. 

Directorate overview

Within the Commercial Directorate, the Estates Category is one of 3 sub areas with 3 Category areas; Construction, Energy, and Workplace.  We have over £5.8 billion of spend come through our commercial agreements and support public sector manage their estate from new builds to energy efficiency on existing estate.

Team summary

Energy Net Zero Category

The small but high-profile Energy Net Zero team forms part of the Energy Category team, which is fundamental in CCS's vision for renewable energy. You have the opportunity to be a part of our creative and talented team delivering transformational and innovative renewable energy services and solutions, supporting the UK public sector decarbonisation challenges and UK Climate Change goals

This role will support some highly anticipated procurement activities within the public sector, working on new and innovative agreements and assisting public sector buyers maximise their procurement's. You will also be working with some of the top global Energy suppliers as well as local businesses in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the management of energy net zero commercial agreements through all stages of its life cycle, with overlapping phases including:

    • Preparation, delivery and auditing of customer meetings

    • dealing with day-to-day customer enquiries

    • maintenance of documents/pipelines/logs

    • risk management

  • Understanding customers needs to determine how our product portfolio may support their business in a complex and specific energy area, being able to simplify complex terminology.

  • Undertake due diligence in all aspects of the role, whilst managing competing deadlines

  • Create clear and compelling marketing material for customers to adopt our agreements and understand the value delivered to them for estates decarbonisation

  • Execute engagement plans and initiatives with current and new customers to establish, retain and grow spend, as well as working closely with other departments to maximise CCS's reach.

  • Supplier Management, including:

    • The development of supplier engagement plans 

    • Conducting supplier reviews 

    • Cost reduction, risk management and timely provision of management information

  • Work with customers, suppliers and colleagues to:

    • Identify, track and report projects or pipeline opportunities

    • Identify, implement and report on commercial benefits

  • Support the preparation of procurement documentation, undertaking due diligence and supporting senior leaders.

  • Develop a good knowledge of Category Strategies, Supplier Market, and Commercial Agreements, sufficient to act as a source of insight and advice to customers

Essential criteria (To be assessed at application stage):

  • Experience of forming and/or managing Commercial Agreements,

  • Experience of building and managing relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, whilst dealing with day-to-day enquiries.

  • Experience in the collation, analysis and presentation of customer or supplier data to identify trends or areas of potential growth in spend through a commercial agreement/framework

  • Experience of managing risks, issues, maintenance and management of various performance logs and KPIs

  • Resilience and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering quality.

Desirable criteria  

  • Energy industry knowledge, including decarbonisation and net zero products and service areas

In the event of a high number of quality applications, desirable will be used as a second sift.
