to lead our general accounting and financial reporting functions during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. This role is essential in building a best-in-class accounting organization, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information, and supporting strategic decision-making across the company.

As a key leader within the Finance team, you will oversee accounting operations, maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, strengthen internal controls, and guide the standup of a fully independent accounting department as we transition off our legacy parent company's TSA. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise, excellent judgment, and a passion for driving process improvements and elevating the finance function.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of internal and external financial statements, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidations, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Manage daily accounting operations, general ledger activities, and overall department workflow.
  • Administer and enhance the company's general ledger and financial reporting systems, including monthly consolidation, chart of accounts governance, report development, and system access controls.
  • Implement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts; provide actionable insights to inform decision-making.
  • Track and analyze financial performance against budget, presenting meaningful variance explanations to senior leadership.
  • Lead the standup of an independent accounting function, ensuring an efficient and effective transition off the Transition Services Agreement with our legacy parent.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous growth.
  • Own the external audit process in partnership with auditors; address findings and implement recommended improvements.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for automation, process optimization, and enhanced accuracy within the accounting function.
  • Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures to strengthen operations and ensure consistency.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Operations, Legal, HR, and other teams to provide financial insight and support strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in broader financial planning and analysis activities that guide long-term business decisions.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years leading teams in a complex or growing organization.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with system implementation or optimization is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; skilled at building relationships across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated success developing talent and leading teams through growth, change, or transformation.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset with a track record of streamlining processes and driving efficiency.

Why Join Us:

  • Opportunity to build and shape a modern accounting function during a significant organizational milestone.
  • High visibility and partnership with senior leadership.
  • A collaborative culture that values innovation, integrity, and professional growth.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
  • Pennsylvania, Alabama, United States
