Title: Front End Developer

Location: Maple Grove, MN & Spencer, IN (Hybrid Role)

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Job Description:

• Looking for an outstanding, experienced, and independent Front End Developer to develop and maintain internal business tools and applications.
• This position is part of a newly formed group that operates with a startup-like feel within the larger company, offering high visibility and significant opportunities to make a mark.
• You will be instrumental in establishing this group and delivering new capabilities that drive the business forward using an MVP (Minimal Viable Product) methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be expected to take ownership and work independently, with a proven history of:
• Ownership & Independence:
  Taking full ownership of projects, including developing, writing, testing, and deploying code with limited direction and oversight.
• A focus on delivering high-quality code with minimal bugs is critical.
• Efficiency & Quality:
  Completing tasks and projects quickly and correctly meaning thorough commenting, testing, and documentation while consistently meeting deadlines. You must be methodical and detail-oriented in a rapidly changing environment.
• Communication & Collaboration:
  Effectively communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will bring technical expertise and a 'can-do' attitude to help guide the team to the best possible solutions.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Core Technologies: Advanced proficiency in JavaScript ), HTML5, and CSS.
• APIs & Backend Communication: Extensive experience communicating and interacting with REST APIs. This role will primarily request and send data through API endpoints.
• Development Tools: Proficiency with Git (e.g., GitLab), Pivotal Tracker, Jira, Slack, and Kubernetes.
• UI/UX & Standards: Experience developing intuitive user interfaces and experiences (UI/UX), with a strong focus on cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards (e.g., Bootstrap).
• Development Practices: Solid experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).

Soft Skills:

• Strong Communication & Collaboration: Must be able to clearly communicate ideas and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of customers, each with different roles, levels, and technical experience.
• Adaptability & Learning Agility: The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new skillsets and methodologies to overcome unexpected challenges is essential for success in this role.

Bonus Qualifications:

• A strong understanding of the MVP (Minimal Viable Product) philosophy.
• Full-stack awareness or enough knowledge to specify what data needs to be exposed by backend services.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and tools (e.g., Kanban boards).
• Specific experience with the VueJS framework for building interactive frontends.
