This position is located at our Sunburst Memorials Headquarters in St. Cloud, also known as the Granite City, is home to several parks and attractions highlighting our granite mining history. For example, Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is a 683 acre preserve with 20 former granite quarries and is a great place to swim, scuba, fish, climb, or admire.
Position Description:
Our Memorial Designer plays a crucial role in the memorial process by creating meaningful, high-quality designs that honor and memorialize the lives of loved ones. This role combines creativity, technical precision, and compassion to transform each family's vision into lasting memorials Working closely with internal teams, the Memorial Designer develops detailed layouts, artwork, and custom designs that align with production standards and customer expectations. Through thoughtful design and attention to detail, this position plays an important role in delivering artwork that inspires, informs, and provides comfort to the families we serve.
This position has a wage range of $18 - $22 hourly.

Essential Functions:
- Memorial Product Design: Apply creative and technical design skills to create meaningful Memorial Designs. Prepare digital layouts, develop concepts and collaborate with team members. Perform a variety of design functions such as drawing vector artwork, working with photos and font selection. Prepare mockups, dimensional drawings and proofs. Design pieces commonly consist of, but are not limited to, flat stones, upright monuments, benches, custom hand-carved shapes, and veterans' memorials.
- Design Workflow Management: Access job tickets and review information. Communicate with team members for clear direction. Organize digital assets and prepare quality designs. Ensure approved designs are accurately prepared for production.
- Design Quality & Production Readiness: Adhere to established quality and production standards. Demonstrate a strong understanding of how computer designs translate to sandblast and etching production by applying solid typographic and layout principles, following design guidelines, and ensuring creative output aligns with production requirements.
- Production Support & Process Optimization: support production-related design inquiries, identify and propose process improvements, and manage tasks to meet project deadlines
- Brand Support & Task Flexibility: support brand identity. Ability to work with photos and prepare laser etchings. Assist with the painting of etchings and carved components, and perform additional duties as needed
