Technical Delivery Manager – Data Analytics
Department: Data & Analytics
Reports To: Head of Delivery
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) – Data Analytics leads and orchestrates complex data-driven initiatives that span multiple systems, teams, and vendors. This hybrid role merges strategic program leadership with hands-on technical delivery, ensuring seamless execution from data ingestion to insights delivery.
The TDM brings a high level of technical fluency in data analytics platforms, data pipeline orchestration, and integrations across enterprise systems. They are equally comfortable managing stakeholder expectations, coordinating technical teams, validating data outputs in QA or staging environments, and aligning analytics outcomes to business goals.
They bridge the gap between Product, Engineering, and Business, ensuring that all initiatives deliver accurate, timely, and actionable data with measurable impact. The ideal candidate is results-driven, adaptable, and collaborative—able to flex between Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies while maintaining discipline in process and delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Data Analytics Expertise
- Demonstrate strong technical understanding of data analytics architecture, including platforms such as Snowflake, Informatica, BlueShift, and Google Analytics.
- Possess conceptual knowledge of data ingestion, ETL/ELT processes, and data migration workflows across cloud environments.
- Understand both inbound and outbound data flows supporting loyalty systems, marketing platforms, and enterprise analytics ecosystems.
- Maintain a high-level understanding of Airflow and Terraform, and their roles in orchestrating and automating data pipelines.
- Have conceptual knowledge of AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, etc.) and how they support modern data pipelines.
- Understand how data is ingested, transformed, modeled, and surfaced to drive business insights and decision-making.
- Partner with data engineers and analysts to ensure quality assurance, performance testing, and validation of analytical outputs.
- Bridge communication between technical data teams and business stakeholders, translating requirements, KPIs, and analytics outcomes clearly.
- Be willing to actively participate in UAT, validating data accuracy and business logic in staging and QA environments.
Program & Delivery Oversight
- Own scope, schedule, and delivery for data analytics programs across multiple domains and teams.
- Translate business goals into technical milestones that drive insight delivery and reporting capability.
- Coordinate efforts between Data Engineering, BI, QA, and Business teams to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Leverage governance tools such as project trackers, dashboards, and deployment calendars to maintain transparency.
- Identify blockers early, communicate risks, and ensure data integrity and quality remain top priorities.
Release Management & Coordination
- Oversee release readiness for data pipelines, ETL workflows, dashboards, and integrations across environments (Dev, QA, Stage, Prod).
- Coordinate deployment planning, validation steps, rollback protocols, and version control for data models and jobs.
- Ensure proper documentation and testing occur for each release cycle.
- Validate data outputs and transformation logic during QA and staging validation.
- Lead post-release reviews to identify optimization opportunities and process improvements.
Scrum & Agile Facilitation
- Serve as Scrum Master or Agile Facilitator for one or more data engineering or analytics teams.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Promote strong backlog hygiene, dependency tracking, and measurable sprint outcomes.
- Adapt Agile, Kanban, or Waterfall processes based on team maturity and data project type (e.g., pipelines, migrations, analytics rollouts).
- Foster collaboration and transparency across technical and analytical workstreams.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
- Deliver clear and actionable updates on program health, dependencies, and data readiness.
- Bridge communication between data engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of metrics and deliverables.
- Prepare and share release summaries, dashboards, and readiness reports for leadership.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement across all data delivery processes.
