Summary:Associate Director responsible for heading up the Engineering Function at the BMS Phoenix Manufacturing Site. The role will be dynamic to include Design, Build and Deliver to major site expansion projects as well as functions as SME knowledge base for existing infrastructure and equipment. This role requires strong technical capabilities and leadership skills. Will be responsible for direct reports with responsibilities including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, and process engineering as well sustainability, reliability and total preventative maintenance initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain department budget:
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets and site long range capital planning and budgets. Ensure Cost Center Owners have appropriate information and tools needed to develop and to be held accountable to their budgets
Ensure adequate operational, infrastructure, and support capacity to meet marketing, R&D, and clinical needs:
- Responsible for the acquisition of new equipment, and facility layout, design, and construction.
- Responsible for the maintenance of existing equipment and facilities through department managers and their staff.
Ensure department goals align with organization goals:
- Provide site master planning in accordance with strategic objectives while ensuring capacity availability and expansion capabilities
- Responsible for capital project conceptualization, planning, design, execution, and implementation.
- Ensure adherence to governing policies, SOP, and overseeing agency requirements.
- Select, develop and foster a well-trained, motivated and informed technical staff. Develops and mentor's personnel while exhibiting Core Values.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years' relevant work experience required, preferably a pharmaceutical environment.
- 3 years' leadership experience with direct reports required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, MS PowerPoint, Project, Visio
- Advanced knowledge of cGMP, OSHA, DEA, USP and EP
- Ability to multi-task

- Intermediate knowledge of plant steam systems including high pressure and purified steam systems, purified/distilled water systems generation and distribution and HVAC.
- Ability to deal appropriately with regulatory agencies

- Requires safety alertness due to work around hazardous equipment and conditions.
- The incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods of time.
