Bartender

The Barback supports the bartending team at Melvyn's by ensuring the bar is clean, stocked, and operating smoothly throughout service. This behind-the-scenes role is vital in delivering a seamless guest experience rooted in timeless hospitality. The Barback maintains efficient bar operations, anticipates bartender needs, and embodies the high standards and storied tradition of service at Ingleside Estate.

• Ensure all bar stations are fully stocked with beverages, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies before and during service.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down the bar area at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Support bartenders in preparing garnishes, organizing tools, and keeping the workspace clean and orderly.
• Remove used glassware, plates, and utensils from the bar area and maintain cleanliness throughout service.
• Replenish ice, liquor, mixers, and beer as needed, ensuring continuous service.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables according to property and local standards.
• Assist with bar inventory counts and restocking product in designated storage areas.
• Respond to bartender requests promptly and professionally, maintaining excellent teamwork.
• Adhere to all health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with proper food handling, sanitation, and alcohol service procedures.
• Support in occasional guest interaction, always reflecting the gracious and polished service standard expected at Melvyn's.
• A key requirement for this role is punctuality, including showing up on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work, and adhering to all rest and meal break standards as well as the company's attendance policy.

• Prior experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with bar tools, basic beverage knowledge, and safe handling practices is a plus.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours).
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (e.g., cases of wine, kegs).
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to stock and clean bar areas.
• Comfortable working in a noisy and dynamic environment.

Required Certifications

• Valid RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification – State of California
• Valid Riverside County Food Handler's Card
