Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to inform case strategies and ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and memoranda with precision and clarity.
- Provide expert guidance on estate planning, environmental law, family law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and litigation matters.
- Represent clients or the organization in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and administrative hearings with confidence and professionalism.
- Manage multiple cases or projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous records of case developments and legal administrative processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams or clients to develop strategic approaches to complex legal issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Stay informed about evolving legal standards by continuously engaging in research and professional development activities.
Skills
- Extensive experience in diverse practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and litigation.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather pertinent case law and statutory information efficiently.
- Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive documents tailored to various audiences.
- Excellent negotiation skills to advocate effectively on behalf of clients or the organization during settlements or contractual discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation cases from inception through resolution while managing deadlines diligently.
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes including case management systems and document filing procedures.
