Job Summary

Yarde Metals is looking for a warehouse associate to join our Operations Team in Hauppauge, NY. A warehouse associate is responsible for safely filling orders, replenishing inventory, loading/unloading trucks and moving material in the warehouse.

Job Responsibilities.

• Safety First
• Move material throughout warehouse by safely operating powered industrial vehicles (forklifts and overhead cranes).
• Retrieve material from inventory according to work instructions.
• Verify accuracy of material retrieved by measuring and comparing product information on tag to work order.
• Construct skids and use shipping supplies to properly wrap and prepare product for delivery using tape measures, banding equipment, and nail guns.
• Tag material, verify product against work order, and perform last piece visual inspection.
• Safely load and unload material from trucks using cranes, forklifts, and side loaders.
• Inspect inbound material using measuring tape measures and calipers.
• Prepare orders for shipment via common carriers, UPS, and customer pick-up.
• Expedite orders and process received and shipped material in system.
• Perform additional duties as instructed by manager.

Requirements

***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery***

• High School graduate or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Warehouse material handling and forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand, and carry out work instructions in English.
• Must be able to use and read a tape measure.
• Must have strong critical thinking skills and ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements of position (e.g., continuous standing and lifting 70 pounds).
