Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Logistics Coordinator to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations. This role involves managing transportation, warehouse distribution, procurement, and inventory control to ensure seamless product flow from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, experience with ERP systems, and a solid understanding of supply chain management principles. The Logistics Coordinator will play a critical role in process improvement initiatives, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage transportation planning, freight, and shipping & receiving activities using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP.
- Oversee warehouse management including inventory control, stocking, materials handling, and warehouse distribution to optimize space utilization and efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within supply chain processes and implement effective solutions for continuous improvement.
- Manage procurement activities including sourcing, category management, vendor management, and contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Utilize data collection tools such as SQL and data analysis skills to generate reports on supply chain analytics, demand planning, profit & loss analysis, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to ensure timely order fulfillment and dispatching.
- Monitor inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing costs.
- Support transportation management by planning routes, scheduling shipments, and coordinating with transportation providers to meet delivery deadlines.
- Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives by analyzing logistics workflows and implementing best practices in supply chain operations.
- Maintain mechanical knowledge for equipment such as forklifts when necessary for materials handling tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics coordination within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as SAP or AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Strong data analysis skills utilizing SQL or similar tools for reporting and decision-making purposes.
- Experience with procurement processes including sourcing, vendor management, contracts, and negotiation strategies.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, NVOCC operations, shipping & receiving procedures, demand planning, inventory control, and production planning.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment like forklifts is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $ $32.81 per hour
