About
Our Charlotte, North Carolina location is seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and tracking outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Your duties will include verifying order details, packaging items securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient supply chain operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to manage the flow of goods and maintain accurate shipping records. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in logistics and operations management.
Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy of contents and quantities.
- Package items securely and appropriately for various shipping methods (e.g., LTL, parcel).
- Generate and apply shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS) for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain detailed records of all shipments, including tracking information.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS) to process shipments.
- Inspect outgoing goods for damage or defects before dispatch.
- Assist with receiving inbound shipments and managing warehouse inventory as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company logistics policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to all safety standards and using required PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk, warehouse associate, or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common carrier portals.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and wear provided PPE.
