We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team in Seattle, Washington. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our facility. You will be responsible for moving, organizing, and staging various types of goods, utilizing hand tools, pallet jacks, and other equipment. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are crucial for success in this role. You'll work closely with other warehouse personnel to support shipping, receiving, and production needs. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and products.
- Transport materials to and from various work areas using pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling equipment.
- Organize and stage materials for production, shipping, or other warehouse operations.
- Accurately count and verify incoming and outgoing materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company policies and safety regulations.
- Inspect equipment and tools before use, reporting any defects or issues.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as needed.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including wrapping and labeling.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in logistics and safety.
- Lift and move heavy objects as required, following proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
- Familiarity with hand tools and material handling equipment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines.
