We are hiring a Picker/Packer for our busy facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is integral to our order fulfillment process, ensuring that our customers receive their correct orders quickly and efficiently. As a Picker/Packer, your primary responsibilities will include accurately locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves using pick lists or RF scanners, inspecting items for quality, and securely packing them for shipment. You will be working in a fast-paced environment that requires both speed and precision. This role involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout your shift, as well as frequent lifting of packages, typically up to 40 pounds. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount; you must strictly follow all safety guidelines and wear the appropriate PPE , including safety glasses and gloves. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products for orders from warehouse shelves.
- Inspect items for defects or damage before packing.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Verify order accuracy against pick lists and shipping documents.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including labeling and staging.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and warehouse area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Utilize required PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory tasks as needed.
- Support the overall logistics and fulfillment process.
- Perform frequent lifting of packages up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Capacity for frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and logistics .
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE .
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
