Join our bustling logistics operation in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a Material Handler! We are searching for reliable and safety-conscious individuals to manage the flow of materials within our facility. This role is fundamental to efficient warehouse operations, ensuring that raw materials, components, and finished goods are moved, stored, and prepared for their next stage. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, organizing stock, and maintaining an orderly and safe working environment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of warehouse safety practices, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and has experience with forklifts or other relevant machinery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials within the warehouse, stocking shelves, picking and staging materials for production or shipment, and conducting regular safety checks on equipment. You will work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations and meet production deadlines. This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of materials. Your contribution is vital to our logistics success in Grand Rapids.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stock materials on shelves and racks.
- Stage materials for production or shipment.
- Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
