We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our state-of-the-art facility in Durham, North Carolina. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the movement and management of materials throughout our warehouse. This includes operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring efficient inventory flow. Your role is critical to our supply chain and logistics operations, contributing to overall productivity and order fulfillment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move materials from receiving areas to storage locations, and from storage to production or shipping areas.
- Ensure accurate tracking of materials through inventory management systems.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain organization within storage areas.
- Support the Logistics team by ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods.
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role. Valid forklift operator certification is required. Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control principles. Knowledge of safety regulations related to material handling is essential. Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player. Excellent communication skills are beneficial. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our distribution center and contributing to our logistics success in North Carolina.
