MAKE AN IMPACT THAT MATTERS
We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Healthcare team and lead the delivery of complex, high-value healthcare projects. This role offers the opportunity to work within a respected engineering consulting firm known for technical excellence, client satisfaction, and a strong presence in the healthcare sector.
Reporting directly to a Senior Manager, you'll collaborate with a knowledgeable and experienced team while serving as a recognized technical subject matter expert within the organization. You'll take ownership of the mechanical design for sophisticated healthcare facilities, including acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, mental health and rehabilitation centres, and P3 projects, ensuring solutions are technically sound, constructible, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements.
In this role, you'll lead the technical design process from concept through construction completion, overseeing complex systems that involve multiple trades and significant technical challenges. You'll assess constructability, develop detailed design specifications, and participate in project planning and management meetings to ensure schedules, budgets, and deliverables are achieved. You'll also provide technical leadership through peer reviews, mentorship of junior engineers, and formal sign-off on complex engineering reports and standards.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Recognized technical subject matter expert within the organization
- Responsible for the technical design for complex projects, often involving multiple drawings, technical complexity, high value, and multiple trades
- Assesses design constructability and develops design specification for complex designs
- Participates in project planning and project management meetings and provides improvement recommendations to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met
- Peer reviews work of more junior engineers
- Reviews and signs off on complex engineering reports and standards
- Completes project work on time and within budget
- Leads teams in the technical design of complex projects
- Accountable for all designs through to construction completion
- Ensures technical accuracy of all project files and documentation
- Other duties as required
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.Eng with PEO
- 10+ years engineering consulting experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Good accuracy and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary team

TOTAL REWARDS
The expected salary for this role is between $100,000 to $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness. Along with your base salary we offer a wide array of programs that include our Short Term Incentive bonus program, technical and business training, mentoring, wellness initiatives, the opportunity to participate in our coveted Defined Benefit Pension plan, flexible work arrangement, and hybrid work structure.
