We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As an Order Picker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently locate, pick, and stage products for shipment. This involves navigating the warehouse, using scanning equipment to identify items, and carefully collecting them to meet order specifications. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. Strong attention to detail is paramount to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of performing the required tasks, including frequent lifting and standing for extended periods. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders using a voice-picking system or handheld scanner.
- Verify product codes and quantities against order slips.
- Safely operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the shift supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts as required.
- Meet established productivity and accuracy standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks when necessary.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is preferred but not required. Ability to perform manual labor, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. A strong commitment to safety and willingness to follow all safety procedures. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
