Role Overview: The Developer Content Programs team aims to educate and engage the developer community. As a Lead Technical Content Editor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the clarity, accuracy, and engagement of our developer-oriented content across various domains, including search, observability, security, and GenAI. You will be the go-to expert for technical quality, collaborating with PMMs, engineers, social media managers, and contributors to deliver content that resonates with developers. We seek candidates who possess broad technical knowledge, exceptional editorial instincts, and a passion for translating complex ideas into accessible content. Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are crucial. This position is an individual contributor role. Key Responsibilities: Create high-quality content, including tutorials, deep dives, Labs articles, demos, and video explainers. Review technical content across formats: blogs, video scripts, social media posts, and more. Present Elastic in a genuine, developer-focused manner across all channels. Collaborate with engineers and PMs to ensure technical accuracy and clarity. Guide writers and contributors to enhance narrative structure and detail. Contribute to the development of content strategies addressing emerging topics and storytelling angles. Identify recurring themes in developer forums to inform future content plans. Enhance our presence on platforms like Reddit and HackerNews, developing relevant promotion strategies. Qualifications: 5+ years of engineering experience and proficiency in at least one programming language. Strong writing and editing background with the ability to evaluate content for accuracy and developer-centricity. Fluent English is required. Excellent editorial judgment and time-management skills to coordinate multiple content streams. Self-motivated and organized, capable of working independently. Curious and adaptable, eager to become knowledgeable about new tools and topics. Comfortable in a distributed team setting and collaborating with colleagues across different time zones. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Elasticsearch. Experience in writing technical documentation. A strong social media presence connected to relevant audiences.
