Speech Language Pathologist

About
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Speech-Language Pathologist serves autistic children and youth. Speech-Language Pathologist will provide assessment, parent-mediated and individual and group interventions and consultation within the McMaster Children's Hospital Autism Program, including the delivery of Ontario Autism Program services. Therapy may be conducted in clinic, in home, in the community or virtually. Mentoring is available in all areas of practice.
1. Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
2. Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
3. Minimum of two to three years' experience working autistic children and youth and their families preferred
4. Comprehensive knowledge of communication and social development and communication, speech and language delays/disorders
5. Experience in augmentative communication preferred
6. Demonstrated teamwork skills and the ability to initiate and work independently
7. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting
8. Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills
9. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
10. Willingness to participate in criminal reference check
11. Fluency in French will be considered an asset
12. Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)

The McMaster Children's Hospital Autism Program is an ambulatory service for autistic children and youth. These services have strong links to McMaster University's Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART) and the Offord Centre for Child Studies.
