We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our warehouse team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory records, ensuring that our warehouse operations and logistics run smoothly. You will be responsible for conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize stock inaccuracies. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mind, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of inventory management principles. Your work will directly impact our ability to meet customer demands and maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventory audits regularly.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by reconciling system data with physical stock.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, including potential shortages or overages.
- Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to improve inventory accuracy and flow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE during inventory checks.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, adjustments, and other relevant metrics.
- Assist in training other staff on inventory control procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of wearing PPE.
Working Conditions:
This position involves working in a warehouse environment which may include periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Maintaining a safe working environment through strict adherence to safety guidelines and the use of PPE is crucial.
