We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. In this critical role, you will manage the intake of all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment products arrive. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, meticulously inspecting shipments for any damages or discrepancies, accurately logging inventory into our system, and organizing stock for put-away. Maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Inspect all goods for damage, verify quantities against shipping documents, and note any discrepancies.
- Record received inventory accurately into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and tag all received items according to company procedures.
- Organize and stage received products for efficient put-away into storage locations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock and surrounding areas.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulations.
- Wear and utilize required PPE at all times.
- Communicate any receiving issues or delays to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as assigned, including inventory counts.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry is essential.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with WMS or ERP systems is a plus.
- Strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of PPE .
