Opportunity for a skilled Material Handler in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is critical for managing the flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved, stored, and prepared for distribution in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include operating forklifts and other machinery, loading/unloading trucks, and maintaining organized inventory. We are committed to providing a secure work environment, and adherence to all safety protocols is paramount. Your role is integral to our overall logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment with proficiency and adherence to safety standards.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated areas.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock management.
- Follow all established warehouse procedures and guidelines.
- Mandatory use of provided PPE to ensure personal and team safety .
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other relevant machinery.
- Certification for forklift operation is highly preferred.
- Physical capacity to handle frequent lifting of materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse material handling best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety .
