Engineers at this level maintain deep knowledge of product features, workflows and interactions within the broader healthcare imaging ecosystem. They drive innovation in test automation tooling and quality assurance strategy while ensuring activities align with regulatory compliance requirements for medical device software.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Test Strategy
Define and execute comprehensive manual and automated test strategies based on feature requirements and clinical workflows. Lead the specification and implementation of automated testing frameworks and infrastructure. Maintain in-depth understanding of application architecture, external system interactions and medical imaging technologies including PACS, DICOM, HL7 and VNA standards. Drive innovation in test automation tooling and implement systems for load, stress and performance testing to ensure product scalability and reliability.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Conduct product-centric system testing activities that validate complex features and ensure overall product health across releases. Execute annual verification and validation activities in accordance with medical device software regulations. Support functional risk assessments and maintain documentation for compliance audits. Ensure all testing activities adhere to Intelerads established QA workflows and quality standards.
Collaboration & Mentorship
Work closely with application specialists and product managers to understand clinical use cases, workflows and customer requirements. Mentor mid-level and graduate QA team members in healthcare domain knowledge, testing techniques and best practices. Lead QA input during scrum ceremonies and sprint planning activities. Communicate effectively with product and R&D managers to raise quality concerns and recommend solutions.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
Develop and maintain robust testing infrastructure and environments that support comprehensive quality validation. Implement and manage continuous integration and testing pipelines. Support system release readiness activities by ensuring adequate test coverage and validation of release candidates.
Qualifications:
BSc / BEng in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience
5-8 years of QA engineering experience preferably in healthcare or regulated industries
Proven expertise with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or Ranorex
In-depth working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related protocols
Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems including scripting capabilities
Proficient use of SQL ideally with PostgreSQL or Sybase databases
Strong analytical skills with ability to read and interpret technical documentation and specifications
Demonstrated ability to compose clear and concise technical written communication
Firm understanding of security principles and secure software development practices
Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements:
Experience working in regulated industries (Healthcare, Finance, Legal)
Familiarity with medical imaging standards such as DICOM and HL7
Knowledge of PACS technologies and medical imaging workflows
Strong understanding of programming languages including TypeScript, Python, PHP, C#, C/TCL or C/CLI
Experience with infrastructure technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with cloud platforms including AWS or Azure
MSc / MEng in Computer Science or related field
Travel Requirements Occasional travel may be required for team collaboration or compliance activities.
