Job DescriptionRole Overview
Are you passionate about turning data into a strategic asset? As our Data Team Lead, you'll be at the forefront of building a modern data ecosystem that drives innovation and empowers decision-making across the organization. This is your opportunity to continue to shape how data is architected, engineered, and governed—while leveraging cutting-edge tools like Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Purview.
The successful candidate will ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across the organization, enabling data-driven decision-making and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture
- Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture framework, including data models, pipelines, and storage solutions.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of data platforms leveraging Microsoft Fabric.
Data Engineering
- Lead the design and development of data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes.
- Implement best practices for CI/CD, medallion architecture, and real-time analytics using Fabric components (Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Power BI).
Data Governance
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
- Utilize Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage, classification, and compliance management.
- Drive initiatives for data quality, stewardship, and ownership across business units.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor an internal data team while using externals where necessary.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT leadership to align data strategy with business goals.
- Act as a data culture advocate, promoting best practices and continuous improvement while providing strong communication skills with leadership and end users.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, and data governance roles.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory, Data Activator, Power BI) and Microsoft Purview (Data Map, Unified Catalog, Compliance Manager).
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and pipeline orchestration.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, regulatory compliance, and risk management in data environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-driven analytics and Copilot integration in Microsoft Fabric.
- Certifications in Microsoft Fabric, Purview, or related data governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and hybrid data architectures.
