About

Description

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Project Manager on a permanent basis on our Technology team. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across Canada.

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex technology initiatives from start to finish. You'll manage resources, budgets, and timelines while aligning projects with organizational priorities. If you excel at leading diverse teams and delivering results, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

What you'll do:

  • Define scope, build detailed project plans, and guide complex technology initiatives from initiation through successful transition to operations.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and navigate scope changes while keeping projects aligned with business priorities and approved baselines.
  • Coordinate interdependencies across concurrent projects, proactively surface risks, and make timely decisions to keep initiatives on track.
  • Adapt delivery approach to project needs — applying waterfall, agile, or hybrid methods as appropriate.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, deliver clear executive updates, and maintain productive relationships with senior leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to software selection, negotiate deliverables with third parties, and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Document lessons learned, refine delivery practices, and contribute to the maturity of FCL's project management discipline.
  • Coach and mentor project team members, fostering growth and building delivery capability across the PPMO.

Who you'll work with:
You will lead, manage, and direct large, diverse stakeholder groups. This will involve managing Project Managers, Architects, Business Analysts, technical teams, Subject Matter Experts from often multiple business units, Technology Committee, 3rd party vendors and contractors.

Why it matters:
We help local Co-ops grow and thrive by offering a range of professional services, including marketing, market research, information technology, human resources, accounting, risk management and business development.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Information Technology and:

  • Have 8+ years of relevant project management experience. A solid understanding of MS Project or Project Online is required. Mainframe background is not required but would be an asset.
  • Have demonstrated experience in people management.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in computer science or business (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered). PMP certification is strongly preferred.
  • Are familiar with various technology systems such as finance, payroll, time and attendance, master data management, retail merchandising systems, and infrastructure related projects.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salaries, short-term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan.
  • Encouragement to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop as a Team Member.
  • As a co-operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit
