About
Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska! As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials within our busy warehouse. Your expertise in operating various types of forklifts will be critical to maintaining smooth operations and ensuring the timely movement of goods throughout our logistics network. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all operators to adhere strictly to safety procedures and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE. This role requires precision, vigilance, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move palletized materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage, and from storage to shipping areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including maintaining a safe distance from others and ensuring loads are stable.
- Utilize appropriate PPE at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Support overall warehouse operations and logistics as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of safe forklift operating practices and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
