Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, stack, load, and unload products.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with accuracy and care.
- Stack and arrange inventory in designated areas, maintaining proper placement and stability.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through careful handling and reporting of any discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of obstructions to ensure a safe logistics environment.
- Participate in routine equipment maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated ability to perform tasks requiring significant lifting and physical exertion, up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of proper handling techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime.
- Good communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating tasks.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to operate machinery for extended periods and perform tasks involving frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Consistent use of PPE is mandatory.
