About
We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in Richmond, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, stacking, loading, and unloading materials throughout our distribution center. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring that goods are handled properly and that our warehouse remains organized and productive. The ideal candidate will have a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures, and experience operating various types of forklifts. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to preventing accidents. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Safely transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items within the warehouse and to/from loading docks.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any issues or necessary repairs to maintenance.
- Follow all Safety guidelines, including maintaining proper clearances and operating at safe speeds.
- Perform pre-operational checks on equipment and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and locating stock.
- Ensure that all loads are secure and stable before transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse and logistics standards.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of Safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to perform occasional Lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
