About
Our Madison, Wisconsin facility has an opening for a dedicated Material Handler. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to move, sort, and store goods. You will also assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring that materials are readily available for distribution. A strong emphasis on Safety and adherence to operational procedures are essential. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a deep understanding of warehouse logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas or production lines.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area according to Safety standards.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Follow all company Safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler is preferred.
- Forklift operation experience and certification is a significant advantage.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including frequent Lifting of up to 55 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
