Office Administrator/ Paralegal- LA - Hybrid
Law firm seeks a proactive and experienced Paralegal to work with our Securities Litigation Department in their Los Angeles office. Specifically, the Paralegal will assist with conducting research, proofreading, cite-checking, bluebooking, and filing of court documents.

Key Paralegal Responsibilities

  • Perform legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, BloombergLaw, AlphaSense, and other systems
  • Proofread and cite-check/fact-check briefs, complaints, and other documents
  • Prepare for depositions, hearings, trials and/or client meetings (includes scheduling with multiple parties including outside counsel and vendors, preparing exhibits, etc.)
  • Maintain time entries in iTimeKeep

Key Office Administration Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with building management, security and vendors; facilitate building access for visitors, maintenance and repairs
  • Answer phones and greet clients and visitors; screen telephone calls, mail, and packages
  • Create UPS and FedEx labels and prepare packages for shipping; assist with printing and binding needs
  • Order office and kitchen supplies and manage inventory
  • Ensure the office, conference room, and storage room remain neat and fully stocked with needed supplies
  • Maintain kitchen amenities, including keeping kitchen and supply area stocked, clean, and functional
  • Assist with the onboarding of new hires in collaboration with the Managing Director of HR
  • Organize office parties and birthday celebrations, and other ad-hoc projects as they arise
  • Take on additional administrative duties or special projects that may arise to support fluctuating office needs

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm (securities litigation experience is a plus, as is class action experience)
  • Experience with e-filing or assisting in e-filing in federal district courts
  • Solid experience and skills performing cite checking and Bluebooking
  • Strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, BloombergLaw, and other court and news-related sources

  • Occasional flexibility with shifting work hours (i.e. beginning early or staying late, separate from overtime), if business needs require

Work Environment

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Los Angeles, CA
  • This is a hybrid role typically 3-4 days in-office (Tuesdays and Wednesdays required); 1-2 days work-from-home
