We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team in Durham, North Carolina. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, stocktaking, discrepancy resolution, and system updates. Your attention to detail will directly impact operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential inventory issues, ensuring we have the right stock in the right place at the right time. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize losses due to damage, theft, or obsolescence.
- Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to ensure product freshness and prevent spoilage.
- Generate inventory reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate receiving, put-away, and shipping processes.
- Train new staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, especially regarding Safety and handling of materials.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Must be comfortable with frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times.
- This role is integral to our Logistics operations.
