About
We are currently looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is vital for the efficient operation of our warehouse, focusing on the movement and organization of materials and finished goods. You will be responsible for receiving, stocking, and distributing items using various equipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. A strong emphasis on safety and a willingness to perform physical tasks are key requirements for this role. Your contribution will directly support our logistics and production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Stock materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment.
- Assist with regular inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Load and unload delivery trucks as needed.
- Report any safety hazards or operational issues to management.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a material handler or warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to perform consistent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safe operating procedures.
- Basic understanding of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
