Join our busy distribution center in Baltimore, Maryland, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate. This multifaceted role is at the heart of our logistics operations, managing the inbound and outbound flow of goods. You will be responsible for unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, stocking received items, and preparing outgoing orders for shipment. This includes accurately picking, packing, and labeling products, as well as coordinating with carriers for pickup and delivery. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this role. We maintain a strong commitment to safety, requiring all employees to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow strict safety protocols. The position involves regular physical activity, including lifting and moving materials, so experience with proper lifting techniques is highly valued. You will be a key player in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our supply chain, contributing directly to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight efficiently and safely.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Stock received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and prepare them for shipment.
- Generate and apply shipping labels and documentation.
- Stage outgoing shipments for carrier pickup.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the use of required PPE.
- Follow proper lifting techniques for various types of goods.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with shipping software and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
