Our San Diego, California logistics hub is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of goods into our warehouse. This critical role ensures that all incoming shipments are accurately recorded, inspected, and processed efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to maintaining accurate inventory records and upholding safety standards. This is a key position in our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Document all incoming inventory, noting discrepancies or damages.
- Sort and distribute incoming materials to appropriate storage locations or departments.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and dollies, safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal staff regarding deliveries.
- Contribute to the efficiency and integrity of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the proper use of PPE.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
- Familiarity with basic inventory control and logistics processes.
