We are searching for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics hub in Durham, North Carolina. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your ability to handle materials with precision and adherence to strict safety protocols is paramount. This position requires a keen understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and a strong commitment to maintaining a secure working environment. You will play an integral part in our supply chain, ensuring the smooth flow of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move and stack merchandise to appropriate locations within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Properly use all required PPE , including safety shoes, vests, and hard hats where necessary.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics .
- Report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned when not operating a forklift.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing.
- Strong understanding of forklift operating procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing and maintaining the correct PPE .
