In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are received accurately, inspected, and processed efficiently. You will be responsible for verifying incoming inventory against purchase orders, documenting any discrepancies, and safely unloading trucks. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of logistics operations are essential. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to ensure a smooth flow of goods into the facility. Your dedication to maintaining accurate receiving records and upholding safety standards will be critical to our team's success. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming inventory for damage or defects and report any issues.
- Accurately record all received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received goods for proper storage and distribution.
- Organize and stage received items for put-away by other warehouse staff.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Must be proficient in lifting and moving boxes and items up to 50 pounds.
Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or inventory control role is highly desirable. Familiarity with RF scanners and inventory management software. Ability to read and interpret shipping documents. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. A strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. Safety is our top priority, and you will be trained on all safety procedures related to your role.
