About
We are looking for a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Portland, Oregon. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our facility. Your duties will extend to inspecting equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy through proper placement, and ensuring the overall flow of goods in our logistics chain. Safety is our utmost priority; you will be expected to strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and operate machinery with caution. This position requires precision, a strong understanding of warehouse safety, and the ability to perform tasks involving significant Lifting and maneuvering of heavy goods. Experience with various types of forklifts is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and locations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory management processes.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including Lifting and carrying, when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus.
