An established property restoration company is seeking a Lead Water Damage Restoration Technician to join their growing team in the Markham / Scarborough area. The Lead Water Damage Restoration Technician will manage and oversee water damage restoration projects, ensuring quality service and compliance with industry standards. You will lead a team of technicians, assess damage, develop plans, and ensure that all projects are completed on time and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect water-damaged properties to assess the level of damage and determine restoration needs.
  • Develop and implement detailed restoration plans, including water removal, drying, and repair procedures.
  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians, providing training and ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
  • Operate and maintain water extraction and drying equipment, including pumps, dehumidifiers, and air movers.
  • Coordinate with clients, insurance adjusters, and project managers to keep all parties updated on progress.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all work, including photos and progress updates.
  • Handle minor repairs and manage subcontractor work as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain the inventory of tools and supplies, ordering as necessary
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in water damage restoration or a similar field.
  • IICRC certification in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) is preferred, with additional certifications like Applied Structural Drying (ASD) a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing restoration projects.
  • Strong understanding of water damage restoration techniques, mold prevention, and drying science.
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with restoration software (ie Xactimate, Encircle) and basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be available for on-call or after-hours emergency response as needed.
  • Potential exposure to water, mold, and other hazardous materials; personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
  • Travel to job sites within the area may be required.
