Hair Stylist

Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and personable male or female Hair Stylist to join our vibrant salon team in downtown Barrie. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hair styling and providing exceptional customer service. Preferably with experience in Barrie. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity, build lasting client relationships, and contribute to a welcoming salon environment. Candidates should be dedicated to maintaining high standards of sanitation and professionalism while delivering top-quality hair services.

Duties

• Perform a variety of hair styling services including cuts, color, highlights, perms, and treatments tailored to client preferences for all ages and all genders.
• Consult with clients to understand their desired look and provide professional recommendations
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools, equipment, and workstations in accordance with health regulations
• Upsell retail hair products and additional salon services to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
• Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and processing payments
• Foster a friendly and professional atmosphere to ensure a positive client experience
• Stay current with the latest hair trends, techniques, and industry best practices through ongoing education

Experience

• Licensed Hairdresser
• Proven experience as a Hair Stylist or in a similar role within a salon setting
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients
• Expertise in various hair styling techniques including cutting, coloring, and styling for all ages and all genders.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety protocols in a salon environment
• Ability to upsell products and services tactfully to clients
• Excellent communication skills to understand client needs and provide personalized recommendations
• Experience with retail sales is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
• Previous front desk or receptionist experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Preferrably with experience in Barrie.
