In this role, you will have an impact on the company's success by ensuring the effective execution and delivery of complex engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. At Honeywell, our Project Engineers play a critical role in developing and supporting our products and ensuring they meet customer requirements.

You will report directly to one of our Senior Engineering Managers and you will work out of our Cambridge, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Lead and manage complex engineering projects from initiation to completion


• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders


• Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation


• Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success


• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards


• Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery


• Provide technical guidance and support to project team members


• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and CSP clearance.

YOU MUST HAVE


• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering, science, technology, or mathematics


• 5+ years of experience in project engineering (or a similar role) for programs/projects involving software & electronic products, preferably for the space/aerospace industry and in the area of optics, RF, and/or robotics


• Experience in risk management and problem-solving


• Experience with project management tools and methodologies

WE VALUE


• A technical engineering background in the space, aerospace, or defense industry


• Experience/knowledge of optics, optical electronics, optical assemblies, etc.


• Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction)


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


• Ability to motivate cross-functional teams


• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively


• Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing project requirements


• Passion for innovation and continuous learning


• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget


• Willingness to dig into the technical details, learn whatever is needed to be successful, and take ownership and demonstrate accountability for the programs/projects under your control


• Strong project management skills


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
